Title I and Parent Involvement

Title I has specific parent involvement requirements for schools that receive funding. Here is a quick review of what is required.

  • Parent involvement at your school means the participation of parents in a meaningful and ongoing, two-way communication loop between the school and parents
  • The two-way communication is organized around student academic learning and other related school activities
  • Title I parent involvement also means that parents play an integral role in their child’s learning
  • Parents are encouraged -through every means possible- to be actively involved with their child’s learning
  • Parents are seen and treated as full partners in their child’s education and involved in every area of the educational process as much as is appropriate
