Chief Executive Officer of the district, responsible for administering the policies of the school district, hiring all personnel and providing the administrative leadership for the operation of schools.
Dr. Michael Novotny has led the Moulton Independent School District since 2008. His previous experience includes twelve years in the Plano Independent School District as a teacher, team leader, special education coordinator, high school assistant principal, and high school principal. Prior to moving to Texas, he served as a cross country and track coach and a special education teacher assistant in Minnesota.
Dr. Novotny has a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's degree in special education from Bethel University in Minnesota. He has a master's degree in educational administration and a doctorate degree in educational administration from the University of North Texas.
Dr. Novotny also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston-Victoria.
