Congratulations to Leslie Juarez, who received the Louise P. and Joe B. Cook Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $4000, and Angelica Manzano, who was awarded the Clark Foundation Scholarship in the amount of $1000.
Both scholarships are part of the Texas Interscholastic League Foundation (TILF) program, which rewards students for excellence at the state academic meet.
Leslie and Angelica were part of the 1A three-time state championship Spelling and Vocabulary team and competed in this event their entire high school career. Leslie won 5th and Angelica was 9th individually in Spelling, and Leslie also captured a gold medal in Copy Editing this year as well.
Leslie will study health informatics at the University of Texas at Austin, and Angelica is majoring in finance at Texas State University.
