It was a banner day for MHS at the district academic meet at Blinn College in Brenham! The team delivered an outstanding performance, bringing home 14 individual gold medals and 9 team championships, plus a myriad of medals and ribbons in between. They capped off the day as overall district champions with a remarkable 749 points! Way to go, kiddos—best of luck at the regional meet in April!

Results are as follows:

Calculator Applications, coached by Randy Stevenson, earned first team with Addison Simper snagging first place, Brandon Colchado taking second place, and Jaxon Bartos landing in third. Katie Richter took home fourth, Landon Chaloupka took fifth, and Bryan Fernandez took sixth.

In Copy Editing, coached by Randy Stevenson, Emma Buehring earned first place, Madison Rothbauer landed in second, and Karsyn Blahuta took third place.

Current Issues and Events, coached by John Meisetschleager, earned first place in the event. Matthew Ulcak brought home first place, John Gomez and Vincent Obregon took second and fourth, respectively.

In Editorial Writing, coached by Anna Bartos, Emma Buehring snagged first place, with Travis Haikenwaelder and Addisyn Greive taking second and fourth, respectively.

In Feature Writing, coached by Anna Bartos, Karsyn Blahuta earned the top spot, with Torin Langston and Brandon Colchado taking the next two spots.

In Headline Writing, coached by Anna Bartos, Karsyn Blahuta took first place, Katie Richter landed third place, and Addisyn Greive took fourth.

The Mathematics team, coached by Randy Stevenson, earned the top team spot. The top five spots were filled with all Moulton ISD students including Addison Simper, Jaxon Bartos, Brandon Colchado, Zachary Sturm, and Bethany Kram in descending order.

News Writing, coached by Anna Bartos, MISD students took the top three spots with Torin Langston taking first, Brando Colchado earning second, and Karsyn Blahuta landing third.

Number Sense, coached by Craig Barta, earned the first-place team spot. Bethany Kram took first, Greyson Anderle second, Kenton Kirkland fourth, Mateo Vasquez fifth, and Jaxon Bartos sixth.

In Poetry, coached by Mary Kay Fishbeck, Marisol Manzano earned first place, Reese Nieto brought home second, and Mina Tinajero landed fourth.

In Prose, coached by Mary Kay Fishbeck, Rebecca Ulcak earned first place, Abigail Siegel took second, and Valeria Pinedo landed in third.

In Ready Writing, coached by Anna Bartos, Madison Rothbauer brought home first place, Mateo Vasquez took second, and Addisyn Greive landed fourth.

Science was coached by Ty Ramos and the MISD team brought home the first place. Emma Buehring earned third place, with Dominic De Los Santos and Vincent Obregon bringing in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Social Studies, coached by Randy Stevenson, also snagged the first-place team spot. Jillian Anderle earned first place, Matthew Ulcak took second, Moises Manzano third, and Vincent Obregon brought home fourth.

MISD brought home the first-place team position in Spelling and Vocabulary, coached by Randy Stevenson. Madison Rothbauer, Travis Haikenwaelder, Madison McLaughlin, and Jillian Anderle swept the top four places.

The Speech Team and Journalism both took first place!
